On July 30th, The Highlight Pro Skydiving Team kicked off their first Highlight Conversations episode with Eliana Rodriguez! Eliana shares her story from her first jump experience, through her time in the military, working in the wind tunnel, competing with Arizona Airspeed, winning World Championships and BEYOND! She highlights how the journey is just as important as the destination.
How do you become a World Champion? By starting from humble beginnings and showing up time and time again. Eliana is one of the most decorated skydivers in our sport, yet she too started out as a student going to the wind tunnel to fix her body position to pass AFF! She immersed herself in the sport she is so passionate about, surrounding herself with the people she wanted to be like, and embracing all the opportunities.
“If you want to be better at something, go be around it. Surround yourself with people that are better than you,” is the advice Eliana wants to pass down to newer jumpers. The best gift skydiving has given her is the community. She has met her husband and some of her best friends since being in the sport. She is also content getting paid for doing something she loves to do and wouldn’t have it any other way!
